I’m a native of Bytom (born & raised), Upper Silesia, and as of 2012 a graduate from the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Silesia in Katowice, holding a Master’s Degree in English (Literature).

I attribute my interest in English in all its aspects primarily to the early exposure to the the cream of the crop of English humour that is Monty Python’s Flying Circus, which, admittedly, must have marked me for life with a predilection for the absurd delivered with a straight face.

To be brutally honest, I haven’t given much thought to English past that, until secondary education took its course and precipitated all the students into funneling their interests into something they could showcase during their Matura exams. It was around that time that I discovered, or was otherwise introduced to (accounts will vary depending on which ones of my friends one would ask) the English Quentin Tarantino, Mr Guy Ritchie - his cinematic work, to be more precise - and I never looked back.

After that, I worked on getting my degrees and extending my understanding of the underpinnings and nuances of English language and culture in general, occassionally interspersing the academic progress with trips to London, where I worked as a barista, sampling the bitter-sweet aftertaste of the nth wave of Polish immigration to the British Isles. I also got to experience the Isles from more of an academic angle, when I was qualified for the Erasmus Student Exchange programme, which I spent at the Univeristy of Ulster, Northern Ireland, both in the University library and the pub alike.

Education, Qualifications, Experience:

I possess no substantial experience in terms of language tutoring, but rather offer a flexible approach to the needs of a prospective student. Should you need my services, I am at your disposal and will do my utmost to satisfy your needs.

I will be especially delighted, enraptured even, should you enlist my help with regards to conversation in English with a focus on British pronunciation, as I reckon it to be my strong suit.

In 2012 I enrolled in a Ph.D. programme at the University of Silesia, where I will, hopefully, pursue a Ph.D. in literature.

Interests, Hobbies, & Other Info:

I hardly take part in any particular extracurricular activities as of 2012, and prefer to keep my interests cerebral as opposed to kinetic, if you know what I mean.



As such, I enjoy:

-> reading, when I muster up enough energy and willpower to get through something,

-> listening to music, which, paradoxically, I tend to do while on the move with my MP3 player plugged into my brain

-> watching TV series, like Dexter, Sons of Anarchy, Breaking Bad, True Blood, Californication, just to name a few, but my interests span across series that are both current and past,

-> pursuing rational thought, including the ideas of transhumanism, science and expanding my feeble comprehension of the world via nature documentaries,

-> making my first, baby-steps into meditation,

-> video games. Why do people still find that odd?
