Hi,



Since my graduation from the English Language Teaching Department of Istanbul University in 1998, I have taught English at international colleges and universities, and on language courses in several countries. In addition, I have also taught both British and American literature and geography. Ready for relocation in a different country, I am eager to continue my teaching experience in a completely new environment. Teaching English in different countries seems to be a particularly exciting experience for me.



I also mastered in both English Literature and Philology. In order to update myself with new methodologies and trends in language teaching and develop myself as a teacher, I have attended several courses and seminars related to English Language Teaching, Educational Psychology and Guidance and Counselling, and also organized several seminars for teachers and prospective teachers.



As well as teaching General English, I have a great deal of experience in preparing students for international English language examinations such as TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS and FCE, CAE and CPE. I have an extensive knowledge of course books and materials. During my career, my teaching has ranged from beginner up to proficiency level, from children to adults, from primary schools to universities, as well as countless hours of private tutoring.

In addition, I have enjoyed being a guidance counselor. Furthermore, I have established and run a variety of clubs, such as a Cambridge club, writing club, and even a cooking club in order to improve students’ motivation and love of school! I also organized a number of extracurricular activities such as Olympiad studies, summer schools, excursions, and school camping trips.



Apart from teaching English, I work as a translator from Turkish to English, and on several occasions have had the opportunity to be a commentator at some conferences and meetings. I have also taught Turkish as a foreign language, especially to Erasmus students.



I am keen to tackle the college’s curriculum, to monitor and assess students’ progress, participate in and contribute to staff meetings, plan and prepare appropriate lessons and teaching materials, design innovative approaches to teaching such as integrating technology across the curriculum, making effective use of online, audio and video resources to achieve academic objectives.
